This article outlines how to complete a job through the mobile app. Anyone with mobile access can complete a job. However, the ability to invoice a job upon completion will depend on the role assigned to the user and their permissions.

View Job location and get directions

1. View the job and ensure that you have the correct address. You can tap on the address to get directions. This will show the map. Tap on the menu icon to get the map options, select the arrow icon, and then select the map choices available for your device.

2. You can send a 'technician is on the way' SMS notification to the contact by tapping on the Comms tab.

Job Timer and tasks

3. Tap on the Start button to start the timer for the job.

a. Pause: Pause the timer, you can resume it anytime.

b. Restart: Reset the timer to zero disregarding any time already logged

The timer will stop when the technician completes the job.

4. The task list will show all the tasks required for the job as defined in the job template. You can tick them to mark them as complete, otherwise edit them delete them or add your own. Ticked off will show on the customer's job sheet unless you decide to configure the report to hide them.

Job Photos

5. You can add photos from your camera or gallery to the job. These photos will be sent to the customer as part of the invoice email and stored in the Job Photos section (if enabled) against the pool record in the portal.

Water Test

6.  Switch on the Include chemical test toggle to test the water. You'll see the Volume, Surface and Sanitiser in the Pool Info section - if these are incorrect or incomplete you can add or update this information by tapping the POOL tab. You can sync via Bluetooth with a Spin Touch or Palintest device and follow the prompts to send test results to the app.

Or enter a test result manually or by using the slider control. You’ll get an indication of whether the result is low or high.

Chemical Test and Recommendations

7. You can add other chemical tests that you want to capture. To do this, tap on the Add Chemical Tests option. To add observations, you can tap on the Add Observation Test option.

8. Recommendations are shown if test results are out of range or when observations are checked. Here you can change the product if there is more than one that addresses the issue, and the recommended amount will change accordingly. You can edit the recommendation if required by tapping on the Edit button.  Recommendations are shown as chemical actions against the test result on the customer's job sheet.

Invoicing

9. Invoice line item titles, quantities and prices can be edited by tapping on the Add Product option. The trash icon deletes the invoice line item.

Any notes that you want to appear on the customer’s invoice can be entered within the Invoice Notes section and these are carried through to integrated Xero and Lightspeed accounts.

10. Tap on the Next button once you are ready to Save/Complete/Generate the invoice (if you have the necessary permission).

Review & Submit invoice - You will be redirected to the invoice preview page where you can configure the invoice. Admins with mobile access or technicians with invoicing permissions can invoice a job.

Complete - Selecting this option will Complete the job. The job can still be invoiced through the web version or the mobile app.

Save - This will save the update job. You can come back and still edit the job. The job will remain in the work in progress state.

Both the Review & Submit invoice and Complete options will stop the job timer.
